CERFP Medical Element’s Mission: To provide sophisticated and short duration, pre-hospital emergency medical treatment during a Chemical, Biological, Radiological/Nuclear and Explosive (CBRNE)- Enhanced Response Force Package (CERFP) team. Specifically, the team works with decontamination and/or casualty extraction teams to provide emergency medical triage, treatment, and stabilization prior to evacuation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintains a program of comprehensive health for the family unit, to include preventive medicine, behavioral sciences, and community health. Prepares and reviews medical histories and obtains data through interviews. Assembles triages and evacuates sick and wounded personnel. Examines patients, formulates differential diagnostic plans, defines and orders required diagnostic testing. Interprets examination findings and test results, and implements treatment plans. Determines need for consultation and assists in medical care and treatment provided at the direction of other specialists. Manages family medicine inpatients, conducts ward rounds, and prescribes inpatient therapy. Participates in surgical, obstetrical, gynecological and critical care procedures according to training and demonstrated ability. Provides supportive and definitive care to patients with serious medical and surgical conditions with appropriate consultation, based on documented and demonstrated proficiency.
This position is with the Oregon Air National Guard. This is a military position. This will require being available one weekend a month and two weeks a year for training. Clackamas VIM—The Founders Clinic seeks part-time Medical Director
The Founders Clinic, located in Oregon City, is opening in early 2012. This will be the first clinic of this type providing free health care for low income uninsured residents of Clackamas County. We seek a Medical Director to direct and oversee clinic operations and the medical volunteers providing primary care to uninsured patients.
Professional medical volunteers will have an opportunity to practice in an ideal, collegial environment with adequate time per patient and a supportive system for prescriptions and referrals. There will be ample opportunities to innovate without the restrictions of insurers and business realities. The Clinic will operate as an appointment-based primary care clinic based on a “culture of caring”, which engages all members of the community in its support. Our values are based on providing compassionate care that respects each patient.
The Founders Clinic utilizes the Volunteers in Medicine national model to provide free health care services to low income uninsured patients. The VIM model uses volunteers for professional and supporting services and especially retirees when possible and available. All practitioners will need to be credentialed for medical liability coverage.
We will initially open one evening per week, with services increasing to two evenings per week by Spring of 2012. The initial time commitment will vary from 6 to 12 hours each week as the Clinic hours increase.
